Maddow Takes Down The GOP Hypocrisy

Last night Rachel called out dozens of GOP lawmakers who constantly blast the stimulus package just to go back to their districts and tout the successes of it. This was an awesome segment on the hypocrisy of the GOP.

Stewart Slams Limbaugh And Robertson Over Haiti Comments

And the “ultra-Liberal” John Stewart even went after Rachael Maddow on comments she made. This is a great run down of the politicization of the horrible disaster.

The takedown of Pat Robertson was absolutely perfect.

The Right Is In A Hissy Over Olbermann And Maddow Being Invited To The White House

How dare President Obama invite the MSNBC hosts and not anyone from FOX. Bush would have never done that!

Oh wait….

Buchanan Gets Pwn3d By Maddow

Rachel took Pat Buchanan to town last night on the Sonia Sotomayor confirmation hearings and forced Pat to show his ugly little racist head:

Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy

Again – why does MSNBC continue to give Pat a microphone? He would fit in much better at FOX News, where he can be surrounded by fellow racists.

Rabid RIght

Since the assassination of Dr. Tiller the right has been on a rampage. They are even taking to public airwaves to praise the assassination and, in some cases, promote more. Rachel did a great rundown of this lunacy last night.

I really hope the feds are listening to these idiots out there and end up hauling them in for questioning. They are using public airwaves to push for people to violate the law of this land. That alone is illegal.

The Need For Two Parties

If you been following my blog for awhile you know that I take the demise of the GOP very seriously. Sure they are fun to pick on and its funny to watch, but our democracy is reliant upon a two party system to enact a system of checks and balances. That very ideal is in jeopardy due to the actions of the GOP and its something our nation should be discussing.

Well it turns out I am not the only one holding that view. Last night Ed Rendell and Rachel Maddow were both echoing their concerns over the very same thing.

Instead of working to become relevant and opening their party up to a wider array of views, the RNC is wasting their times with childish games like asking the Democratic Party to change their name to the Democrat Socialist Party. Barack Obama said last year that we have entered the “silly season” in politics. The Republicans seem contempt on extending that season indefinitely.

I sincerely hope that the RNC gets someone in there of rational mind to worry about the parties goals and message, instead of wanting to play games that would be found in a school yard. As it stands right now the Republicans are risking a long life in the abyss.

Kinky Republicans

They just love their tea bagging, and Rachael is taking them to town on it.

OMG! Obama Has Pledged Himself To Satan

The proof is given by Rachel Maddow

Chuck Hagel Eviscerates His Own Party

Chuck Hagel was on Rachel Maddow last night and he went all out against the Republican Party, from putting a lot of blame for the economic mess on their shoulders, to defending Obama from Cheney’s recent comments.

One thing that really stuck out to me was when Hagel was asked about Michael Steele and his wanting to go after Specter, Snowe and Collins. Hagel made the same argument I have been making, that these people were elected and sworn to defend the constitution and work for their constituents – not the part.

Again, this is the key problem with the Republican party, and what ended up putting them out of power – their blinded faith to the GOP. Republicans believe in a constituency of one. That one is the GOP; the voters who put them into office be dammed. This is what caused countless people to leave the GOP over the past few years. When a party is run in such a way, you get the idea that either you must sign off on every single belief, or you aren’t welcomed.

On the flip side, Democrats allow differences of views in their party and rank. That’s why I always felt welcomed in the Democratic Party. Sure I believe in a majority of the parties platform, but I do break with them on a few issues. And if I’m not enough of an example, just compare two Democrats like Evan Bayh and Dennis Kucinich.

As I have said countless times in the past, we are the most diversified country in the world and limited to only two political parties. The party that allows the wider range of views into their folds will win more and more. Of course I still fully believe its time to break the two-party rule and expand our political horizons. The time is ripe for that, and with a growing interest in politics by the public we should seriously look at ways of making that a reality.

Abrams Out, Maddow In

I like Dan, but I am really glad to see Rachael get her own show. She will debut after the conventions in the 9pm slot on MSNBC.

UPDATE:

Keith Olbermann has also posted a diary about Rachael's new show over at DKos.

A New MSNBC Host?

This would so rock:

“At some point, I don’t know when, she should have a show,” said Phil Griffin, hours before he was promoted on Wednesday to president of MSNBC. “She’s on the short list. It’s a very short list. She’s at the top.”

She is Rachael Maddow. Rachael would be awesome on her own show.

What Will Happen on MTP?

Rachel Maddow wrote an open letter to Orin Hatch this week about the lies he told on last week's Meet the Press. Hatch has issued a letter to Tim Russert regarding his "accurate statements" that he "misspoke" on (yeah - have fun figuring that one out. Everyone else has!). I wonder if Russert will just read his statement, or if we might see Hatch make a guest appearence to try and "set the record straight".
