Amy Goodman of Democracy Now, along with two producers, were arrested in St. Paul yesterday. Democracy Now sent out the following email update over night:

Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman, Sharif Abdel Kouddous and Nicole Salazar
Released After Illegal Arrest at RNC

Goodman Charged with Obstruction; Felony Riot Charges Pending Against
Kouddous and Salazar

Glenn Greenwald is following this story closely and gives a vivid description of the scene, which can only be described as a police state. I guess it's telling that we have a first hand look at what America has become under George W. Bush.

This is one of the most disturbing stories.
What is this country turning into? Another Russia or China..
I only hope you guys(bloggers with an audience) follow this until these storm troopers are investigated and prosecuted to the max !
Everyone involved should be exposed and their motives explained. All the cops, any judges that signed the warrants(when there was one)and the sheriff or the DA that orchestrated this attack on civil liberties.
A sheriff and his SWAT team that proactively targeted protesters then searching their homes, confiscating computers should be recognized as threat to us all. You would think they were trying to uncover a terrorist cell. Utterly over the top BULLSHIT!
