The Politico broke it this morning:
“I didn’t know I hit him. I feel terrible,” a shaken Novak told reporters from Politico and WJLA as he was returning to his car. "He's not dead, that's the main thing." Novak said he was a block away from 18th and K streets Northwest, where the accident occurred, when a bicyclist stopped him and said, "You hit someone." He said he was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
And then there is this video:
And to add insult to injury (no pun intended), this has surfaced:
In 2001, he cursed at a pedestrian on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and 13th streets Northwest for allegedly jaywalking.
“’Learn to read the signs, [bodily orifice]!’ Novak snapped before speeding away,” according to an item in The Washington Post’s Reliable Source column.
Novak explained to the paper: "He was crossing on the red light. I really hate jaywalkers. I despise them. Since I don't run the country, all I can do is yell at 'em. The other option is to run 'em over, but as a compassionate conservative, I would never do that."
I really think Novakula should get some good community service for this. Not some wishy-washy service, but he should be sentenced to stand out on the side of a road cleaning up garbage. Maybe then he will see how it is to be a pedestrian.

Replace Novak with any average person and this article would not have even been posted. Also, Novak could be replaced with an ultra-liberal, say Nancy Pelosi, and this news would not have made it here. Great double standards...I bet you could write a doozy about affirmative action and racial quotas?
"Maybe then he will see how it is to be a pedestrian." What? Huh? A pedestrian is anyone walking outside on a sidewalk or nearby a road....everyone has been a pedestrian at some point in time. I've seen many stupid pedestrians, and I'm baffled as to how they did NOT get hit....
How about some common sense and objectivety? 'Failing to yield' is a misdemeanor, not a felony. The ticket that is issued is based entirely up to the police officer; not up to Novak or the pedestrian. And the type of punishment that Novak receives is not up to you either, but by a judge.
Replace Brittney with an average person and you wouldn't hear about custody battles either - would you? I also love the straw man you came up with on affirmative action and racial quotas. What does that have to do with anything? This is a blog, so I write on what I want to. If you don't understand that simple concept then perhaps it's time to turn the computer off.
Yes walking makes you a pedestrian, but are you also suggesting that Novak wants to run himself over? He made threats against pedestrians previously, so then that would be a threat against himself.
Talking of double standards, failing to yield is indeed a misdemeanor, but Novak didn't stop after hitting the guy. He drove off. It wasn't until after a witness told him what happened that he went back. Sounds a lot like Novak was trying to do a hit and run, which is a felony. I wonder if he got special treatment for his recognition?
Where did I say that "was the punishment"? I offered an opinion on what the punishment should be (again - look up the definition of 'blog'). Of course the America that you and your buddy Novak share is one where Americans are not allowed to have opinions.
