It has gone way to far now:
A senior federal law enforcement official tells us the government is tracking the phone numbers we call in an effort to root out confidential sources.
"It's time for you to get some new cell phones, quick," the source told us in an in-person conversation.
We do not know how the government determined who we are calling, or whether our phone records were provided to the government as part of the recently-disclosed NSA collection of domestic phone calls.
Other sources have told us that phone calls and contacts by reporters for ABC News, along with the New York Times and the Washington Post, are being examined as part of a widespread CIA leak investigation.
One former official was asked to sign a document stating he was not a confidential source for New York Times reporter James Risen.
I got only one thing to say - JAIL. Every single one of them need sent to prison for crimes against the Constitution of the United States. We have completed the transition to becoming a police state.

I remember in jr. high school (circa 1980) my realization that I did not truly know what I would have done had I been a Christian German citizen during the 1930's and 1940's...
I am watching this country become less and less democratic. Can I remain out of "trouble" until my child is older?
I don't approve of anything the Govt is doing about this, but I'm also wondering a great deal about anyone's ability to maintain privacy in the the information age. It's just very easy to replicate and store information. Whether one has laws, subverts the law, or simply ignores it, the information is out there and surprisingly easy to get.
The insult to the citizens of this country is the expectation that we should just "trust them." Our capitalist system has taught us not to trust anyone. It is why we have receipts, contracts, witnesses, notaries, lawyers, agents, checks and balances, oversight and the courts. One simply cannot trust anyone, but especially those with wealth and/or power. It is that "human nature" thing. Although there are many in the current administration who would like people to believe that they are "above" all that psychology stuff, they are not, and every time that they claim they are is another "in your face" lie.
