And all other drugs for that matter.
With the debate over gun control front and center again, we are constantly hearing that we can not ban guns because so many would be here illegally. Well isn't that the same thing that happens with drugs? Why are we wasting billions of dollars fighting a loss cause?
After you answer those questions then answer this one - how many people die from pot as compared to guns?

I never see a lot of people here post replies to anything - so after a year of reading this, I have decided to post one.
My friend got caught smoking outside of school just sitting doing nothing, not going anywhere and no reason to harm anyone. Him and his 2 friends were arrested and held over night. Of course, with our school if you get caught with something such as that, and sent to jail, you can no longer live in the dorms or go to the cafeterias. Now he's making an hour commute for the 3 weeks left of the semester.
Money well spent..
This country wastes so much money on trying to fight drugs that it is sickening. People get caught smoking pot and go to jail. People like Cho have mental problems and our broken health care system can not take care of him, our justice system can't do anything, so he is left on his own and we wned up with Va. Tech. The bad part is so many don't see a problem here.
To be frank with you I never agreed with legalizing marijuana or any other kind of drugs. But I hear so much stuff about this lately stuff that makes me change my mind. Let say we will legalize marijuana, then what? Will there be less people affected by this drug? I seriously doubt that... but I would give it a try just to know what option works best. I also think that people dealt with it, people in a drug treatment center would also have a relevant word to say in this matter.
We hit a milestone in Feb... 1 out of 100 US citizens incarcerated. The U.S. is turning into a nation of prisons because of dope. We have so many problems to deal with in the world and in our own backyard. Why elevate the issue over dope to the level of a "Drug War"?
All the money, manpower and time wasted for something as backward as "prohibition". If we don't learn as we go then we are destined to repeat out mistakes.
I think we have locked up more than enough non-violent offenders.
Let's not lockup anybody else for dope .
I don't have an answer to the problems with guns. I don't think the problem is the guns, it's people. They can stupid, irresponsible or just mental but you can't blame the gun. That would be like blaming the car for running over the jogger. Or blaming your pencil because you misspelled a word.
One important factor that you have to apply is the burgeoning population.
As the number of people rises so do the number of car accidents, crimes in general, communicable diseases, the mentally unstable and gun related deaths. It seems statistically impossible to avoid.
They will be probably sent to the California Drug Rehab center which is the best in the whole state. My opinion is that marijuana should be legalized as soon as possible because this drug does not produce any harm at all.
I agree with you, marijuana doesn’t get you into a drug rehab, it won’t make you violent… it’s just a hallucinogen drug that doesn’t become addictive. I think they should be legal too. I honestly don’t see any reason why it’s illegal.
This is very true and in many ways I support what you’re saying but I can see the other side of the argument too. Legalising drugs leads to more people using drugs which could damage certain areas of society and put more of a strain on hospitals. Many individuals can become addicted and loose a lot of money to their addiction leading to a miserable life. And if they are encouraged to consciously think that drugs are now legal and ok to take they are less likely to get the drug treatment they need. Either way guns need to be made illegal, they just encourage violence.
How can you say something like this? I mean, I'm ok with marijuana, but all the other drugs? What if you were a mom and you child would die from a shot of a heroine? Would you like that? Instead of thinking of to create more and more specialized centres like Alcohol Rehab Centers you want to legalize all drugs..
