I don't understand what the purpose of this bill is, if not to assert and publicly state Christianity as the dominant religion. Why is this necessary? Is Christianity under threat? Last I checked, most people don't subscribe to rational thought but prefer myths, no matter how outlandish, and it doesn't seem as though that's going to change anytime soon, so why is there a need for this bill? I understand even less why our taxpayer money needs to be used in this way. What has happened to the separation of church and state? I want my fucking money back. What a waste.

Why is it that Christians are so preoccupied with Hanukkah? It seems to fit with a pretty belittling world view that asks its people to see everything 'exotic' in terms of what it has already normalized. Moses? He's like the Jewish Jesus. Hanukkah? Just like Xmas, but for Jews. Passover, that's Easter. Bar-Mitzvah? Confirmation. Do they really need to see other religions in tit for tat equivalents of the one true religion? They get Xmas, so of course Jews should celebrate Hanukkah. It's basically Christmas for the Jews, right? Sure, it's a minor holiday in remembrance of a war, but it does take place in December, so it just must be the Jewish Xmas. Please. I know plenty of Jews celebrate Hanukkah, but its elevation to national holiday is a pretty recent development to normalize (read: Christianize) Judaism.
It wouldn't hurt people to understand other cultures or religions in terms of how they define themselves. That way, for starters, you might come closer to understanding why a lot of jews don't celebrate Hanukkah.
