It looks like Roy Blunt's son is taking a page right out of the Bush Administrations book of administrative policies:
Gov. Matt Blunt was sued Wednesday by a former staff attorney who claims he was fired and defamed in retaliation for pointing out that Blunt's administration was destroying e-mails in violation of Missouri's open-records law.
The lawsuit by former Blunt attorney Scott Eckersley alleges that Blunt's top aides ordered staff to delete e-mails to avoid having to provide information to the media and public under Missouri's Sunshine Law.
Can we label the entire Republican Party as organized crime yet?

I'm all for it. It really is striking how much they're like the mafia. Corruption, running a business into the ground, then burning it. Omerta.
Believe it or not, I recently saw (can't recall the website, but had to do w/ balancing a ticket) that Blunt was being considered for a possible VP position on the republic ticket.
Please, Lord - as it is spoken, let it be so!
(Nice work, jamie)
I am one of the 300,000 Missourians that has suffered from Matt Blunt's benefit cuts to Medicaid. I live on a SS fixed income and cannot afford to go to the dentist or get new glasses since Blunt slashed benefits right after he took Office. A pair of good glasses cost at least $300.00 now, and a dentist charges at least $100 to have a tooth pulled. Wow. Lots of people in Missouri suffering since Matt Blunt (Wannabe Bush) was elected by a buch of idiots who did not do their homework before they voted for him. It was the urbanites who elected him. I have had all the GOPer politics I can stand.
So I guess it is ok for the rest of us who did prepare for retirement to support your medical needs because you did not make sure to prepare for retirement.
The problem is that not everyone can afford to set aside money every month to pay for their retirement. Yeah sure, there are people who spend their wages on things that don't matter but it's not easy to pay for a retirement.
woohooo
I guess it would be a matter of perspective the same thing could be said of other politicians and it crosses the party lines.
The list of things that happens to the party is endless. I wonder if there was a list of all transgressions on a website that just kept growing. The sad thing is that we have all become "insulated from it" and expect the shoe to drop every week. Sad!
As a criminal defense lawyer I keep waiting for that call from the party saying they need representation! I don't know that I would take the case, though. Can I trust their defense statements??
How many others do you suppose are doing the same types of things and never getting caught?
I would say that there are at least some that never get caught.
I bet there are plenty more out there that do the same type of thing. Just a matter of time before they are caught too!
I think that anyone who does shady things will eventually get caught. I knew that blunt wasn't a good guy. Your right batocchio they are operating like the mafia.
in your experience, exactly "how" does the Mafia act??
Not surprising as each day brings a new revelation about the crimes of the Bush White House.
We are stuck in a circle of hell. It makes no difference if they are republicans or democrats, the whole political system is a mess.
Politics will be politics whether the red or blue or purple or whatever is in power. Although I am an avid supporter of democracy I have been starting to loose faith in this whole thing. And with elections coming our way i am starting to doubt the whole situation once more. Maybe I am in a pessimistic mood or something but it is difficult to trust a politician these days.
It is a politician trait, not party specific.
Exactly.... And the latest Democratic blunder is the John Edwards affair. It's not party specific, they all are crooks or lack moral judgment.
One thing people don't mention is they have a pretty good system set up to catch these people. Unlike in Africa were curroption rules. They need to copy the legal system.
Politics has always been the same. It's just that the people who are going into it nowadays are greedier and more daring. They will do anything they want, just to get anything they want.
Just like boys willbe boys and so on. I dont understand why people get so caught up in the political thing. It is always the same. Different people but simmilar traits...
You are right, is all the same game of politics, a bit like theater.. but destroying emails, well that's a bit to much. don't you think?
I would blame the individual politicians and not the party itself.
Two things I dont understand:
1. In 1st grade, my mom taught me to be social. That meant sharing and interacting w/ others for the greater good of all. Tell me why repubs are putting such a negative connotation on that? I just would like to know.
2. Why does religion play such a huge role in the political process when everyone knows how much politicians LIE. Call me stupid, but I just dont understand.
I am not surprised at all by these hooligans, they are always up to know good. I don't think it matters if they can delete email or not, there must still be a way to read it.
What is the world coming to when you can't trust politicians. Hmmm...wait....could we ever trust them?
Gosh, it seems this guys should try to get a real job and stop loosing tax payers time and money !
When I hear things like this I just dont think it phases me anymore. Infact, I would be more surprised to go without hearing about any scandals in the politician world.
The Repuli'con' Party is not all bad, but I have to agree that most are very corrupt. That could be said for both sides, as you have the good and the bad but I really do not understand them as a whole. Bush will be gone soon "thank God" !
