Joe Scarborough and Katrina vanden Heuvel were talking about the Eliot Spitzer mess this morning. Katrina asked why our government, which is struggling to even fund "fighting terrorism", has the money and resources to prostitutes. Scarborough actually agreed with her on that, and they both feel that perhaps there was more to this than people are letting on to. Was Spitzer actually targeted because of some of the high profile names he has brought down in the past?
Something else that has been making me scratch my head. We hear some other right wing tools, like Tucker Carlson, going on about how much they hate Spitzer because of his going after corruption. These are the same tools that shoot a load every time they see Rudy Giuliani, who did the same thing. As matter of fact, Rudy and Eliot are more alike than one might think. They both have been high profile prosecutors, turned political executives. The only difference is Spitzer got caught. Rudy has been able to slip through every crack known to man. I wonder if Rudy was indicted for some of his questionable past, if he would end up getting the same scrutiny? I doubt it.
You know MSM and their talking heads are going to be all over this because they love a good scandal. This stuff is a fluff piece in Europe or the Netherlands. They don't take sex scandals as seriously in other countries. America still clings to it's Puritanical roots. "Holier than thou" and the moral authority. It's too bad a bunch of prudes view sex as a bad thing much less the leading story in almost news venue.
They should cover FISA and the complicit Senate, Congress and the Lier in Chief EVERY HOUR ON THE HOUR until there is some accountability and our right to privacy is restored. But no they won't do that, it's more important that Elliot payed $4300 for pussy. Gimme a break I thought he was supposed to be a smart guy...again $4300 OY..
I don't know if he and Rudy are that much alike. Maybe, power does strange things to people.
Now Rudy and Bush, there's a pair. I can't understand why either man has followers.
Rudy, Bloomberg, Pataki , and Steinbrenner were involved in a deal to steal city park land in South Bronx and rebuild Yankee(Heritage) Stadium. In the late 1800s John Mullaly busted his but for years fighting city hall to get parks land set aside. A decade later Rudy and his buds basically confiscate the parks and gave the land to Steinbrenner to build the new stadium. The bottom line is they take parks from the people, paid for by taxpayer money and give it to Steinbrenner and then through the subsidies created by Rudy and Bloomberg the taxpayers pay again. The reason I threw Bush's name in the mix is because he basically did the same thing with the Texas Rangers. Confiscated part of the land using 'eminent domain' , built a stadium and later sold the team for $250mil. Taxpayers payed for the new stadium and Bush and his buds made some bucks. But that's another story.
