FOX's Political Ambitions Exposed

Wed Nov 14, 2007 at 09:23 am

In 2000 most of us saw right through the political ambitions of Fox when they pronounced George Bush as the winner of the election. Of course those of us who saw that were labeled as conspiracy theorists by the far right, but since then it has been proven time and time again. Now the really big proof has come out in the form of a lawsuit:

Judith Regan, the former book publisher, says in a lawsuit filed today protesting her dismissal by the News Corporation, the media conglomerate, that a senior executive there encouraged her to lie to federal investigators about her past affair with Bernard B. Kerik after he had been nominated to become homeland security secretary in late 2004.

The lawsuit asserts that the News Corporation executive wanted to protect the presidential aspirations of Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mr. Kerik’s mentor, who had appointed him New York City police commissioner and had recommended him for the federal post.

Ms. Regan makes the charge at the start of a 70-page filing that seeks $100 million in damages for what she says was a campaign to smear and discredit her by her bosses at HarperCollins and its parent company, News Corporation, after her project to publish a book with O.J. Simpson was abandoned amid a storm of protest.

In the civil complaint filed in State Supreme Court in Manhattan, Ms. Regan says the company has long sought to promote Mr. Giuliani’s ambitions. But the lawsuit does not elaborate on that charge, identify the executive who she says pressured her to mislead investigators, or offer details to support her claim.

So FOX wants to decide on who the next President will be after they decided our last President? FOX really tries to skew and throw monkey wrenches into our democracy. That certainly sounds like a terrorist organization to me. Perhaps we need a President who will stand up and invoke strong restrictions on any media company when it comes to politics. I doubt that will happen, so all we can hope for is that more people will see FOX for what it really is - a 24/7 propaganda network. Then maybe their ratings will drop (oh wait - they already are!).

Would Rudy Pardon Kerick?

He won't say:

Rudy Giuliani refused to say if he'd consider pardoning his old friend Bernie Kerik - who was indicted Thursday on federal corruption charges - if elected President.

"It wouldn't be fair to ask that question at this point," the Republican presidential hopeful said in an exclusive interview in Dubuque, Iowa, just hours before Kerik was indicted in New York.

Like any other Republican, Rudy hates the law. Of course that is only when it affects him or the people around him.

The irony is that yesterday a poll came out saying 74% of the people want a President different than Bush. Well that should translate to 74% of the people don't want Rudy. Here is the voting points for Rudy:

  • Want more cronyism in our federal agencies? Vote Rudy.
  • Want more wars by a leader who won't listen to experts? Vote Rudy.
  • Want more disregard for the law? Vote Rudy.

That's just a few off the top of my head, but Rudy looks more and more like Bush everyday. Hell he is already bringing in a lot of the most notorious names of the Bush administration. I wouldn't be shocked if Rudy picked Cheney as his running mate. He already said he wants a VP like Cheney.

Rudy is Bush. There is no getting around it, so if you think this county is doing great and on the right track, go out there and give Rudy your vote. I sincerely hope America isn't so ignorant to not see through him. If we are then we deserve what ever happens to us. Hell we might as well start learning Chinese.

INDICTED!

Oh I can't wait to hear Rudy talk his way out of Kerick's indictment. This will be fun!

This is a Man Worth Supporting

Remember the failed Bernard Kerik nomination to run homeland security? Guess who was pushing the nomination through, regardless of legal troubles?

When former New York mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani urged President Bush to make Bernard B. Kerik the next secretary of homeland security, White House aides knew Kerik as the take-charge top cop from Sept. 11, 2001. But it did not take them long to compile an extensive dossier of damaging information about the would-be Cabinet officer.

They learned about questionable financial deals, an ethics violation, allegations of mismanagement and a top deputy prosecuted for corruption. Most disturbing, according to people close to the process, was Kerik's friendship with a businessman who was linked to organized crime. The businessman had told federal authorities that Kerik received gifts, including $165,000 in apartment renovations, from a New Jersey family with alleged Mafia ties.

Alarmed about the raft of allegations, several White House aides tried to raise red flags. But the normal investigation process was short-circuited, the sources said. Bush's top lawyer, Alberto R. Gonzales, took charge of the vetting, repeatedly grilling Kerik about the issues that had been raised. In the end, despite the concerns, the White House moved forward with his nomination -- only to have it collapse a week later.

Wow no wonder Gonzales deserves to remain as our nation's top law enforcement official. He is great at judging people.
