RNC

No Partisanship? Really?

Tue Sep 30, 2008 at 11:44 am

The Republicans have been planning all along to use this bailout as an issue against Democrats, despite the fact that it is a bill by a Republican administration. They were so intent on using it that the RNC already had made attack ads and sent them to key states:

The Republican National Committee's new advertisement critical of the the Wall Street "bailout" was produced and sent to television stations in key states before the package failed, officials at two stations said.

"Wall Street Squanders our money. And Washington is forced to bail them out with -- you guessed it -- our money. Can it get any worse?" asks the ad's narrator, as the words "BAILOUT WITH OUR MONEY" cross the screen. (The answer: Obama's plans would make it worse.)

Absolutely amazing. The Democrats should say they aren't bringing the bill backup until the Republicans stop holding the American people hostage. We saw what this did to Wall Street and America's 401k yesterday. They always put party before country. Will John McCain stand up and denounce the RNC for this? Will the media even ask him about it?

The RNC Is So Damn Funny!!!

Wed Jul 30, 2008 at 11:13 am

They put out this little video of how an Obama ad might look in Germany:

So an ad with a bunch of racist innuendos and exhibiting typical RNC hatred is funny? I guess so coming from the party of closeted homosexuals, criminals and pedophiles.

National RNC Scolds Tenn. Gop

Thu Feb 28, 2008 at 12:38 pm

But do they mean it?

The Republican National Committee this afternoon scolded the Tennessee Republican Party over their use of "Barack Hussein Obama" in an official press release and warned the state party that they will be denounced by the national committee if they use the Democrat's middle name again, said a GOP official close to the RNC.

"The RNC has notified the Tennessee GOP that they do not support or agree with their approach," said this source, requesting anonymity to discuss the private conversation between a staffer in the national committee's political department and a top aide at the state party. "If they don't refrain from doing so again, they will be publicly repudiated by the Republican National Committee."

Maybe they should also scold the Tennessee GOP for hiring a total dumb ass to be their mouthpiece.

Nah We Won't Help With The Missing Emails

Wed Feb 27, 2008 at 11:59 am

That is what the RNC is telling Congress now. Previously they said they would try to recover the missing emails and now, well no they won't. Marcy has more.

Lieberman Could Attend GOP Convention

Mon Feb 11, 2008 at 09:56 pm

In all honesty he would be more at home there then at the Democratic convention. None the less it would be nice to have a solid enough majority in the Senate next year to tell Lieberman to shove off to the other side of the aisle.

As The Party Crumbles

Fri Oct 19, 2007 at 03:57 pm

Time for the RNC to find a new head:

Mel Martinez, the public face of the Republican National Committee as its general chairman, announced he was stepping down from his post on Friday after serving only 10 months.

"I believe that our future as a party and nation is bright and I have every intention of continuing to fight for our president, our party and our candidates," the Florida senator said in a statement.

His departure was abrupt and his job will not be filled. Martinez wasn't expected to step down until a Republican presidential nominee was selected. The earliest that could occur is February.

Martinez said he was relinquishing the job to spend more time focusing on his constituents and because the RNC had achieved the objective he set when he assumed the job in January.

What objective? Maybe that objective was to shun Latinos and African Americans. Yeah - mission accomplished there.

Or perhaps it was to totally obstruct the Senate. Yup - another big plus on their score card. The American people really like that too </sarcasm>

So who can we find to replace Martinez? I know! Karl Rove. Put turd blossom in charge of the shitty party.

Another Big GOP Supporter Funding Terrorist Groups?

Wed Mar 14, 2007 at 11:50 pm

It appears that way:

Banana company Chiquita Brands International said Wednesday it has agreed to a $25 million fine after admitting it paid a Colombian terrorist group for protection in a volatile farming region.

The settlement resolves a lengthy Justice Department investigation into the company's financial dealings with terrorist organizations in Colombia.

In court documents filed Wednesday, federal prosecutors said several unnamed high-ranking corporate officers at the Cincinnati-based company paid about $1.7 million between 1997 and 2004 to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, known as AUC for its Spanish initials.

Not very GOP sounding, unless you know about Chiquita. Chiquita was ran by Carl Lindner until March of 2002 (the time frame that these crimes happened). If you are not from the Cincinnati area then you might not know old Carl, so let me fill you in.

Carl is a huge GOP supporter. If you go to the site Newsmeat and search for Carl Lindner and Carl Linder (some records has his name misspelled), you will get some interesting results. Here is a big one for you:

LINDER, CARL
CINCINNATTI, OH 45243

SWIFT BOAT VETS AND POW'S FOR TRUTH
$350,000
primary
10/14/04

Yup some of the same money that went to these terrorist organizations also went to the old Swift Boaters. Very interesting in deed. As matter of fact, Wikipedia has this to say about Carl and Bush's relationship:

A close ally of George W. Bush, Lindner secured the use of Great American Ballpark for the Bush's re-election campaign on October 31, 2004, a few days before the 2004 Presidential Election.

Ahh so maybe that explains why the company Carl used to run (and still owns a large part of) received the harsh punishment of a $25 million dollar fine. If this was some blue company like Costco doing this the CEO's would now be in Gitmo.

Remember - if you want to support terrorism then just give to the GOP. That will make sure you get off easy if you are busted supporting terrorist organizations.

Which Party Supports Terrorism?

Sat Feb 17, 2007 at 12:59 am

After a week of hearing how we would embolden the terrorists because of the Democrats anti-surge resolution, we find out something really interesting:

Terrorism charges brought Friday against the administrator of a loan investment program claimed that he secretly tried to send $152,000 to the Middle East to buy equipment such as night vision goggles for a terrorist training camp in Afghanistan.

Abdul Tawala Ibn Ali Alishtari, 53, of Ardsley, N.Y., pleaded not guilty in U.S. District Court in Manhattan to an indictment accusing him of terrorism financing, material support of terrorism and other charges. The charges carried a potential penalty of 95 years in prison.

[SNIP]

CBS News has confirmed that Alishtari is a donor to the Republican Party, as he claims on his curriculum vitae. Alishtari gave $15,500 to the National Republican Campaign Committee between 2002 and 2004, according to Federal Election Commission records. That amount includes $13,000 in 2003, a year when he claims to have been named NRCC New York State Businessman of the Year.

Alishtari also claims to be a lifetime member of the National Republican Senate Committee's Inner Circle, which the NRCC describes as "an impressive cross-section of American society – community leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, retirees, and sports and entertainment celebrities – all of whom hold a deep interest in our nation's prosperity and security."

Now seriously - this doesn't mean the Republican Party is a bunch of al Qaeda financial backers. It is just showing the hypocrisy exhibited by them. If this were a Democratic supporter then you would see the wingnuts jumping all over it. Now they will just ignore it.
