Brent Wilkes Facing 60 Years In Prison

Tue Jan 22, 2008 at 12:29 pm

According to TPMMuckraker, the federal probation officer is asking for 60 years in prison for convicted Randy "Duke" Cunningham briber Brent Wilkes. Note that is the probation officer - not the prosecutor. That means Wilkes didn't impress the probation officer at all in his pre-sentencing investigation. Most likely - Wilkes is acting like he did no wrong.

Brent Wilkes GUILTY!

For those that don't remember Wilkes, he is one of the people buying influence from former Republican Rep. Randy Cunningham. He has been convicted on all 13 charges against him:

A U.S. District Court jury has convicted Brent Wilkes on all 13 counts in his corruption trial. The Poway defense contractor had been accused by prosecutors of leveraging more than $600,000 in cash bribes and thousands more in gifts to ousted Rep. Randy Duke Cunningham in exchange for Cunningham's influence in securing more than $80 million in government contracts.

I doubt we will hear much about this from the MSM as they suffer from ADD so badly, but we need to remind people of the corruption we have had in D.C. and let our future politicians know that we will not tolerate it at all.
