Dennis Kucinich filed 35 articles of impeachment against George W. Bush last night:
Rep. Dennis Kucinich, a former Democratic presidential contender, said Monday he wants the House to consider a resolution to impeach President Bush.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi consistently has said impeachment was "off the table."
Kucinich, D-Ohio, read his proposed impeachment language in a floor speech. He contended Bush deceived the nation and violated his oath of office in leading the country into the Iraq war.
This AP article, which is written more like some high school lecture notes, is interesting. This isn't the only place I had seen the reminder of Pelosi's "impeachment of the table" comment last night. Malkin even brought that up:
Will Pelosi’s pledge to keep impeachment “off the table” hold?
I would have to say Pelosi was speaking for herself. I highly doubt the Speaker of the House was telling all members of Congress what resolutions they were allowed/not allowed to introduce. Also, wasn't this statement made by Pelosi way before we had a former White House official saying the President deceived this country into war? Those new revelations should make all Pelosi's previous commments null and void.
Speaking of Scott McClellan and Michelle Malkin, on the same post Malkin posts an update at 9:35pm EST, saying that Robert Wexler is trying to get McClellan to testify before the House Judiciary Committee. Perhaps Malkin should turn off FOX news every once in awhile, because an hour before this "update", Scott was on Countdown telling Keith he would be testifying. Here's the clip from that interview:
Yup, if you want to stay uninformed, head on over to Malkin's blog and read away.

That's the day Dennis Kucinich is planning on introducing articles of impeachment against Bush. He is also going after Pelosi:
He also fired a volley at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California who has maintained that impeaching Mr. Bush is not on the table for Congressional Democrats. “If impeachment is off the table,” Mr. Kucinich said, “truth is off the table. If truth is off the table then this body is living a lie.”
AMEN! Impeachment, or the threat of, is one of the core principals of checks and balances and by Pelosi saying "it's off the table", she is, in effect, saying that checks and balances are off the table. This shows Pelosi is not up to the job of being Speaker of the House.

Bob Franken Gets It Wrong
Wed Jan 16, 2008 at 04:33 pm
Bob Franken has written an article blasting the NV judge who said Dennis Kucinich could appear in the NBC debate:
The Nevada judge who ruled that NBC must include Dennis Kucinich in the Tuesday night debate not only needs to go back to law school, he needs a refresher course in high school civics.
Happily, the state Supreme Court stepped in and overturned him. But it shouldn’t have been necessary.
Whether you like the media or not, particularly the aforementioned MSM, one of our fundamental principles is that government does not dictate how it covers the news.
Yes that is true Bob, but listen to the reason the judge made the order:

Hey MSNBC What's Missing Here?

There's a certain name missing from that list at the bottom. Is MSNBC planning on ignoring a judge's order?

Self Proclaimed Legal Wingnuts
Tue Jan 15, 2008 at 11:24 am
That's right, we have self proclaimed lawyers on the right, and they are not happy with a judge's decision yesterday to allow Dennis Kucinich in tonight's MSNBC debate:
However, the judgement is absurd on its face. In the first place, the state courts wouldn't have jurisdiction for a national broadcast. Constitutionally, this case belonged in federal court, which has jurisdiction on any interstate commerce complaints. Kucinich filed his tort in state court hoping to find a sympathetic, activist judge who didn't know much about the law, and apparently succeeded.
More offensively, the courts don't have any business telling NBC or any other network that they have to include certain individuals in a debate. It may be a poor decision to exclude certain candidates, but the broadcast is the property of the network and it's their decision to make. The court apparently has no respect for private property in that sense.

MSNBC Must Include Kucinich In Debate

Looks like someone in our judicial branch is tired of the media trying to pick our leaders. I'm not a big Kucinich fan, but this is a really good thing. The media shouldn't be allowed to pick who can debate and who can't. It's an insult to our democracy.
