Some Very Early Exit Poll Results

Tue Feb 5, 2008 at 06:28 pm
By jamie

MyDD has a round of very early Democratic numbers. Everything looks neck in neck there.

The interesting numbers are at NRO, where it doesn't appear that McCain could be running away with it as much as people were expecting.

Still, everything is very early and it's going to be an interesting night.

Romney Blames McCain For Losing WV?

So I hear this statement read on MSNBC and can't stop thinking "WTF"?

So it's McCain and some "backroom D.C. deal" that cost Romney WV? Talk about a reach.

Hillary has a 5% lead over Obama. We most likely won't know anything tonight.

Final Super Tuesday Polls

Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby
Obama 49%
Clinton 36%

Survey USA
Clinton 52%
Obama 42%

So who will win? No one knows. Remember it's not about states, but delegates. As we saw in Nevada, it is possible for someone to win the popular vote, but loose in the delegate count.

Today will be very interesting. I'll have the tracker up a little later. This is a modified one to track all 24 states, but it's easy to use. Just click the link and you will get an expanded view of that state. For newer browsers it will overlay on your screen. For older browsers, or browsers without javascript, it will open up in a new window.

You can tune into FOX news and their new contributor - Karl Rove. I am sure he will give a fully impartial view of what's going on. Sure he will - just trust him.

Some Super Tuesday Polls

Zogby has a new poll out that has Obama beating Clinton 45-41%. With 370 delegates up for grabs, California could end up becoming a wash (in other words the winner coming out with only a handful more delegates than the loser).

Pew also has a new national poll out, which has Obama trailing 38-46%. There is good news in this poll for Obama, however. Clinton has remained solid at 46% since December, but Obama has gone from 26% to 38% in that time. That means Obama is picking up a lot of support from Edwards' people, as well as other candidates that have come and gone.

Finally Rasmussen has a poll out showing Clinton beating Obama 49-38%. What's even more interesting is that this poll is showing Clinton opening up the lead.

Mitt-end?

Thu Jan 31, 2008 at 11:49 am
By jamie

It kind of sounds like Mitt is starting to give up:

In a major boost for John McCain, Republican presidential rival Mitt Romney signaled Wednesday he's not ready to commit to a costly campaign in the states holding primaries and caucuses next week.

Several officials said that on the heels of a defeat in Tuesday's Florida primary, Romney's campaign was not attempting to purchase television advertising time in any of the states on the Super Tuesday calendar.

Now would this be a boost to McCain or a boost to Huckabee? A lot of pundits think that McCain is doing so well because the conservatives are splitting between Romney and Huckabee. This could actually help Huckabee more than McCain if that's the case.
